This collection of thirteen short stories ranges from dark humour, desperation and poignancy, to hopelessness and mystery. Each story has a hidden secret which leaves the reader wondering what really happened.

From the opening story, “Upon Reflection”, about the disappearance into the mist of a mysterious hooded figure, and the effect upon the person who last saw them alive, Misdirection features a varied cast of characters.

Luka rethinks his life choices in “Distorted Views” when he discovers his best friend is streaming from a concealed camera in a client’s bedroom.

In “Dereliction”, Juliet discovers a terrible secret about her parentage.

“Goo Goo” is the story of a disturbed child from whom her parents must protect the younger siblings; and in “Despair Deserved”, the unnamed protagonist realises that he can never compensate for one night of carelessness in his youth.
